Data sources

Trusted sources

DDH categorises certain journal data sources as “trusted.” Trusted sources are those that:

  1. Agree to the Terms of service for trusted sources.
  2. Adopt the DDH diamond criteria.
  3. Enhance their journal metadata to align with the DDH diamond criteria.
  4. Share the journal data (including diamond categories) with DDH.

Trusted sources supply DDH with verified journal data, where verification is conducted by the sources themselves using the operational diamond criteria.

Supporting sources

Supporting sources are also journal data providers for DDH.
Unlike trusted sources, they do not perform journal verification using the operational diamond criteria. Instead, DDH editors verify their data.

Currently, DOAJ serves as the only supporting source, though others may be added in the future.
The verification of data provided by DOAJ formed the initial DDH dataset. The details are described in this blog post.
