General Internet Users
Anyone without a DDH account can:
- View, search, filter (fully diamond journals; by license, language, and country) and sort the list of diamond journals.
- Access the list of DDH data sources.
In contrast to General Internet Users, DDH Editors, Data Source Representatives and the DDH Administrator have user accounts on the platform and can sign in / out.
DDH Editors
In addition to the abilities of general users, DDH editors can:
- Assign journals to themselves, cancel assignments (But: if the DDH editor is the only one assigned to the journal, then it cannot be cancelled). Assigning a journal indicates that the editor takes the responsibility for the journal maintenance and will receive notifications from the DDH system regarding this journal.
- Modify a journal’s diamond criteria or metadata.
- Delete journals (approve/reject journal deletions).
- See additional search results and filters, such as “owned by”, “assigned”, “pending updates”, “pending deletions”, “diamond status” (verified, unverified), and a filter for individual diamond criteria.
DDH editors receive the following email notifications:
- Action request: An immediate notification is sent whenever an update to a journal maintained by the editor requires approval or rejection (triggered as soon as a change is suggested).
- Weekly summary: A summary email is sent once a week, listing the number of pending journal updates or deletions that require the editor’s attention.
Data Source Representatives
Representatives of trusted sources have the same permissions as general users, plus the ability to:
- Upload verified journals using a provided spreadsheet template (for multiple journals), a form (for individual journals), by providing links to journals in the JMEF format created using the OJS plugin or sending the DDH administrator the links to the list journals in the JMEF format created otherwise.
- Update journals they have uploaded using the mentioned spreadsheet template (for multiple journals), a form (for individual journals) or share the updated list of links to journals in JMEF format with the DDH administrator.
Data source representatives receive the following email notifications:
- Action request: An immediate notification is sent whenever an update to a journal owned by the source representative requires approval or rejection (triggered as soon as a change is suggested).
- Weekly summary: A summary email is sent once a week, listing the number of pending journal updates or deletions that require the source representative’s attention.
DDH Administrators
Administrators have all of the permissions of the DDH editor role, along with the ability to:
Assign data source representatives to their respective sources.
Add and manage new data sources (including providing the JMEF API urls to external source systems/ journals).
Register new users, including data source representatives and DDH editors.
